Cherasco, October 29, 2025 – Tesisquare, an Italian company specialized in digital solutions for supply chain management, has launched an innovative project with Carrefour Italia to optimize and make logistics processes more sustainable, with a particular focus on asset traceability.

The project responds to the need to reduce losses and improve traceability: every year, between 5% and 10% of roll containers are lost within Carrefour Italia's logistics network, generating significant economic impacts, with estimated costs between €70 and €150 per single roll container. To address these shortcomings, Tesisquare introduced the Bluetrace solution, which leverages BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) technology for automatic, real-time tracking of roll containers. It integrates data with management systems such as WMS and TMS, ensuring complete traceability and a significant reduction of losses.

This solution is based on long-life BLE tags, with batteries that can last up to 10 years, and plug-and-play BLE/4G gateways installed at key points in the logistics network. The collected data is sent to the cloud, where it is analyzed and displayed in real time via an intuitive dashboard. This technology guarantees a reading range of up to 100 meters, completely eliminating manual tasks while simplifying system installation and management.

Among the key benefits of the Tesisquare solution, thanks to Elision, the company's IoT Competence Center, are a reduction of losses of up to 30%, a significant improvement in logistics efficiency, and the availability of reliable KPIs to support data-driven decisions. Furthermore, the solution has no impact on staff’s work, allowing for complete process automation and greater involvement and accountability of logistics partners.

The project represents an important step in Carrefour Italia's digital transformation journey, which includes extending the solution to the whole distribution network and integrating it with emerging technologies such as advanced IoT, predictive artificial intelligence, and blockchain, for an increasingly smart and sustainable supply chain.

"We are thrilled to support Carrefour Italia in this crucial phase of their digital transformation. With Bluetrace, we have adopted a technological approach that transforms logistics management into an automated and reliable process - said Rinaldo Rinaldi, Senior Advisor at Tesisquare and Professor of Supply Chain Management at the University of Florence. This partnership demonstrates that the potential of digital supply chains goes beyond simple efficiency: it means concretely reducing losses and providing Carrefour Italia with data-driven tools for faster and more sustainable decisions."

"The collaboration with Tesisquare represents an important step in our journey of digital transformation and supply chain sustainability. Improving traceability and logistics efficiency means not only optimizing internal processes but also reducing waste and environmental impacts, to the benefit of the entire ecosystem - says Alessandra Iacovelli, Chief Information Officer of Carrefour Italy - It is a concrete example of how technological innovation can support more efficient and forward-looking distribution."
